Seeing Your Little One In 3D/4D/HD
Are you wanting to see your little bundle of job in 3D/4D/HD? Are you wondering when is the best time to come do that? The answer is honestly, subjective to the Mommy & Baby. I wish we could have the perfect answer for everyone but we just don’t. Everyone’s body’s are different. Everyone’s baby’s are different. Even the same Mommy with different pregnancies may look completely different.
But…. Let’s start with what we do know.
1.Baby’s don’t start getting any body fat until week 24. Does this mean they’re ready to go for their 3D/4D at 24 weeks? Not really.
When people think 3D/4D/HD they think cute chunky cheeks! They think fluffy lips, Dad’s obvious nose, a cute little dimple in the chin or cheek. To see these things we need that baby to be good and squishy. So the more fat on those cheeks and face the better.
Now let me make a note here that is important. The further along does not always equal the better! Sometimes after 27-28 weeks those babies are too squished and we can’t make out much. Sometimes we have to sacrifice the chunkiness of being further along for the opportunity to see anything at all at an earlier gestation.
See what I’m saying about… it depends? Everything is subjective to Momma & baby & that ever present Placenta! Placenta is our friend, it is what is feeding and taking care of that baby in-utero but it can be a bit of a drag when it comes to ultrasounds & dopplers. Just know it’s very very necessary and we need to love our placenta even if it does cause for some delayed feeling of movement as well as sub-par ultrasound pictures.
Check back for part 2 of what we know.
